I've returned to life in Italy. I actually was able to sleep on the flights over, as they weren't very full so I had an extra seat or two next to me.
January is one of my favorite months in Florence, so I'm glad I'm at least getting a couple of days of it this year. During these winter months it's like you have the city to yourself. No lines for museums, fewer tourists in the streets. And when the sun is out the sky is bright blue.
Flatmates are well. The dog's nose appears to have turned a shade of pink (formerly brown). We don't know why. I thought it was my imagination, but then Franka asked Buska if he showed zia (aunt) his pink nose. He seems proud of it.
I'm hoping to be more social this weekend, and I'll check in at the studio next week.

Glad to hear you made it back to Italy safely! I'm really looking forward to reading your blogs again. You have a wonderful way of describing your experiences that makes me feel like I'm experiencing it too. Can't wait to see what we, I mean you, are going to be up to in the next few months. =) Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!! Love, Lisa Mead
Excellent point about having the city to yourself...makes me think I should plan my visit to Florence in January/February (*one* tourist won't kill you right?) ;)
Thanks Lisa, it was great seeing you again.
Michelle, I'm crafting a blog post around this strange Gilroy/Italy thing... fascinating isn't it? Keep writing!
Boo we missed you again!
You're back in Florence and I'm in London! We's practically neighbors!
I'll have to give you a buzz if I make it to Florence while I'm in Europe, and ask for some recommended to-do's. And to-eats. Mostly to-eats.
:)
