Nespole: I think they're loquats
The beautiful tree in our cortile (courtyard) is full of fruit. Ethan climbed it for our afternoon snack. I think they're loquats. (Note: Cristina emailed me the Italian name for the fruit, nespole. Grazie!)
We've been working on an engraving technique using a burin (bulino) on rame (copper). For this technique in particular I find the light outside to be preferable. This is my makeshift workstation, adorned with my loquat snack.
In less than 6 months you have a lifetime worth of images! I am living vicariously in Italy because of your great blogs and photos and got hooked on reading some of the other blogs that you provided links for. That man who left the flowers in the shrine does go there regularly, I know he does. Didn't I read that in a novel or a short story?
Yes, they are delicious! And Marianna I added a link to an Italian language blog you may enjoy reading. Also I was chatting with my mom and she said there's something about a man visiting a shrine in Under the Tuscan Sun! I also forgot to mention there was a man looking for something while we were hiking and we asked him what he was searching for and it was mint. He was finding baby mint leaves that he said are molto buono.
