Selected works

I took some quick photos after the finals of the prints in my cartellina (portfolio). I'll still need to shoot them in better lighting with a tripod for my digital portfolio and slides. (Note: the distorted lighting in the photos is a combination between a lens in need of repair and bad lighting in the studio.)

tempio di Apollo (etching, aquatint, pastel, sugar-lift, spit bite, white ground):

Your prints are fabulous. So is your book. I would love to see them in person. Now that the course is coming to an end, what are the plans of most of the students? Do they continue to study, teach, go on to other fields? I bet that your work is the best in this class. I can't imagine the work that goes into your plates - just the incising alone is major. Ciao, Marianna

Grazie Marianna... I'll be bringing my cartella home with me, also il libro, so you can see them in person.

A few students will continue at Bisonte a day or two a week. I'm planning to do about 15 hours a week for a few months. So far I think two students have found assistantships in colleges and universities. The other American student will return to the states to teach incisione at the high school level. Some will finish their specialization at Accademia. Many are interested to continue their work in painting and sculpture.

We all have such unique styles as printmakers, it's hard to compare. I'm really in love with the prints by one girl named Sisseta. Her work is so poetic and she's also a brilliant painter.

I think you can see in my work that I studied from Vinci and Manuel ;)

A little birdie told me I scored 100 on the final portfolio presentation, so I'm quite pleased!

When you are in California, we must talk about trying to have an exhibit at the Musea Italo-Americano in Fort Mason. Your work is so beautiful - I bet we could make it happen. Lots to talk about. I am not surprised that you would get a perfect grade on your work. Ciao, Marianna

Ciao Cristina e Marianna

Cristina, I still have a print of the bulino I will send to you from California... quella stampe da quando hai fatto l'assistente!

Marianna, in gennaio I am planning to continue the series of the rocks I found al mare vicino Livorno. I'd like to have 10-15 prints and hopefully show them here and in the states.

Off to the studio to finish my tiratura for the Bisonte archives. Baci e abbracci
